LO3/5: Once the design was down I started on the Model Sheet. I gave Nadia the head first as these I had sketched out the various views already. Then the full body sheet followed after the heads as I felt that the girl's proportions needed tweeking as I got feedback form a number of people thinking that she was a boy. I made her hips and thighs a little wider so more afeminate and her limbs a little shorter so apears more child like. The next stage will be to complete a character sheet of poses and expressions.
LO2/3: Using images of Toothless and weasles I created these character sheets below of Draco holding various poses and in motion as well as him stationary in this 'Draco constelation' pose and a series of face expression. All of these sketches will be very improtant when coming to animate and of course rigging before that.
LO7: I feel that this character is far more engaging than Blu, both in motion and emotion fronts. I can see him move easier in my minds eye and he feels as if he can intergrate well into the space enviroment. The next stage will be to create the girl to play oposite him. she needs to be her own character but also be comfortablly coupled with Draco, visually on screen but also in character performance. LO1/2: After having desinged the new character of Draco I needed to create a model sheet for Nadia to model from. I always have trouble creating model sheets as they are quite clinical to my mind. The drawings seem to sacrifice character for proportion accuracy so I am never quite sure that the model sheet convay the character well. Over a series of pages I experimented with various body proportions whist looking at ferrets and weales as refrence. http://rebeccameilakfmp.weebly.com/characters/body-proportions-reference
LO3/5:For the modeling to get started I created a model sheet for my modeler Nadia who requested a top view as well as the front and side. I created the various section in different colours to aid the modeler in understanding the different parts. The feather detail in green will be created as extuded genometry to be rigged instead of a feather simulation as I had originaly pitched. The idea to have minimule feather detail in this way was taken form the animated short Nebua. Here the character had feathers where simply shaped and placed in a few key places so giving the illusion of a feathered creature but not having to be completely featherd. http://rebeccameilakfmp.weebly.com/film-inspiration/nebula Front vIEW:Side View:Top View:As the girl has two stages of being she will have two looks; one in 2D when she is semi corporal and the second as 3D when she is transformed into solid from: Girl 2D CHARACTER SHEET:GIRL 3D CHARACTER SHEET:Character sheet of Blu in various posses based on my sketches and previous character development which can be found in the character sketches and development tab:
