LO1: To aid with the design process of the Moon Child I looked at Jack Frost and in so doing I found the early designs for Jack Frost. I particualy like the hair and the cloths of the early designs. My ideal designs for the girl will be flowing hair and dress. However in 3D that would involve hair and cloth simulations or very extensive rigging and animation. So the alternative is to chose a design which requires no simulations and will be require little animation which these http://livlily.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/rise-of-guardians-2012-character-design.html |

LO1: After having exhusted all the illistrations in my book I took my research further afield to the internet to find other illistrations by Froud. I did find others but this particular illistration by a Pika-La-Cynique was particularly inspireing. Based on Froud's style and a friend of the artist I am quite enamoured with the face, hair and cloths and will incorperate some of these features in my design proces.
LO1: To aid the design of the Moon child I looked at the art work of Brain Froud who is well known for this faery designs. I refrenced his book of Good Faeries...Bad Faeries whist desigin the Moon Child. The photos of the illistrations below are some of the ones which were of particular interest to me.
LO1: To aid with my character sheets, posing my character and face expressions I drew again a lot of inspiration form Toothless especially from the images below and others on my pinterest board. They provided a base for me to work form so I could then explore my own character and his performance. When it came to the body of Draco, he is far longer than Toothless so again I used refernce from weasles with his posing.
I found an article, link below, of a young artist creating and selling these dolls in Moscow. I love the detail on the feet as well as the ear shape and their faces. I added these to my pinterest board and used them in the next stage of my design process.
LO1: To aid my re-desigining of Blu I've created a Pinterest page to collect various images which may be helpful, some of which are below.
